As a Clinical Counsellor, with 22 years in the social services field, my approach is person-centered, strength-based and trauma informed, weaving many therapeutic modalities into my practice. I have worked in the public sector in government, non-profit and in health care for VCH and PHSA for many years, having the privilege to work with so many different folks across the lifespan.
In Counselling my areas of practice focus are mental health (included but not limited to anxiety, depression, agoraphobia, managing new and/or complex diagnoses), substance use (addiction and recovery), women's health and wellness, complex chronic pain and fatigue, disability awareness and support, self-esteem and self-care, life transition support, and child and youth therapy.

When working with folks my treatment approach is very much based on the individual, but I begin by establishing a calm and peaceful connection, creating consistency, ongoing support; while setting intentions of what they would like to explore, learn and heal. I utilize various counselling theoretical approaches into the sessions, and strive to empower folks to make positive changes on their path forward.
A true believer in meeting people where they are at, I value connection and strive to create an inclusive, safe and supportive therapeutic space.
