Although my approach is tailored fit to meet your unique needs, I will draw upon my background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Attachment Theory while using a Strength-Based, Client Centred Approach. My goal is to provide you an emotionally safe place where you can speak freely about what your current stressors are.
This approach looks at the strengths that an individual already brings to a problem or crisis. This is a client-led process which assumes that people have many skills, abilities, values, commitments, beliefs and competencies that will assist them to change their relationship with the problems influencing their lives.

EMDR treatment is a form of adaptive information processing which may help the brain unblock maladaptive material. Studies indicate that EMDR is effective in the treatment of anxiety, panic attack, post- traumatic stress symptoms (such as intrusive thoughts, nightmares, and flashbacks), depression, phobias and other traumatic experiences.
As an EMDR trained counsellor, I offer EMDR for children, youth, and adults.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) helps clients understand and re-structure thoughts that influence our behaviours. During the course of treatment, people realize how to identify and change destructive thought patterns that do not serve them well. Although we can’t control every aspect of the world around us, we can control how we interpret and deal with things in our environment. Change is directed at realizing values and achieving goals.
It’s human nature to make sense of our experiences through the stories we tell, but it’s how we tell our stories that can be very revealing as well as which pieces of information we tend to focus on. These stories shape people’s perspectives of their lives, histories, and futures. Working with a counsellor with a skilled ear for how you tell your stories can help you see your problems in a new light. Feel more confident, capable, and at ease by reframing your perspective and understanding your problems and yourself in a whole new way. Understanding how problem stories shape your perspective can prepare you to re-write these stories to serve you better.
